The HOREHRONIE cluster is a unique initiative on the Slovak tourism market. With regards to its mission and vision, it acts as the official Destination Management Organization (DMO) in Slovakia. It plays the role of an official joint marketing and organizational center for its members and partners in the tourism sector in the Horehronie region. The coordinated development of tourism at the regional level is common in foreign destinations. The joint activities of the cluster, business entities, cities and all entities operating in tourism bear the fruit after years of efforts. These results fill us with optimism that we are on the right path and this work needs to continue.

The regional tourism organization HOREHRONIE REGION was established and operates on the basis of the Act no. 91/2010 Coll. on the support of tourism. The organization can implement most of its activities with help of targeted subsidies from the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic. The ambition is to get the Horehronie region with its activities on the map of sought-after European destinations, to present Horehronie under a single brand at home and abroad, to create competitive touristic products and to encourage active cooperation in the region.
