Chata pod Hrbom is situated on the border of the Vepor Mountains and Poľana under the massif of Ľubietovský Vepor, the spot height of which - Hrb - is considered to be the central point of Slovakia. The wide saddle below Hrb forms an important crossroad of marked hiking, cycling, and skiing trails on the northern edge of the Protected Landscape Area Poľana, which also constitutes a biosphere reserve under the auspices of UNESCO.

The maximum capacity of the chalet is 48 beds, sanitary facilities are located in each corridor for both ladies and gentlemen. The chalet features a dining area, as well as a large common room with a flipchart board and a TV, appropriate for lectures and other activities. There is a large gym in the chalet where children can exercise in case of bad weather. There is also a pool table, table tennis, table football, darts, and various other sports equipment and board games. The chalet also offers a private ski lift and an outdoor grass pitch for a wide range of sports.

The surroundings of the chalet are very interesting and diverse. This offers you various opportunities to engage and educate your pupils even in the lap of true nature. Chata pod Hrbom is located in the heart of Slovakia. It is only a stone's throw from the exact geographical central point of Slovakia, a hill called HRB. The path to the mountain can be mastered by small children in the scope of easy and adventurous hiking.

From the chalet, you can literally jump to the educational mining trail in the village of Ľubietová, as well as on the opposite side you have a blast furnace on the Three Waters in the direction of Osrblie, which is on the Route of the Iron Heart.
