Country House

Country House

The Country House boarding house is an oasis of peace for both domestic and foreign visitors looking for recreation, quality service, good food, drinks, and friendly people. You may find it right in the centre of the village Hronec situated on the northern edge of the Vepor Mountains near Brezno, a couple of tens of kilometres away from the low Tatra peaks of Chopok and Ďumbier.

For visitors, there are two apartments available with one or two bedrooms. A restaurant providing all-day dining, a day bar, and comfortable seating on the terrace surrounded by greenery. Cyclists can take advantage of the electric bicycle charging station.

Accommodation

Visitors can choose to stay in either a one- or two-bedroom apartment. The apartments are located on the first floor. A baby crib is available on request. Both apartments feature a communal seating area, satellite TV, a kitchenette, a dining area, and a private bathroom with a shower. Wi-Fi is available in both the apartments and the restaurant.

Catering

The establishment provides a wide selection of meals prepared mainly with fresh ingredients from local suppliers. In addition to the regular daily menu, we can prepare a number of specialities, vegetarian or fitness meals, for customers, so there really is plenty to choose from. The quality and tradition of the Pilsner Urquel brand reigns supreme in the beer offer. In addition to draft beer, we offer a wide range of mineral waters and soft drinks.

Attractions, sports, recreation

The village of Hronec is probably best known for its foundry production, which dates back to the eighteenth century. In 1810, the first cast-iron bridge in Central Europe was produced there. In the nearby mountain valley (the Three Waters site), there are the remains of a blast furnace, even dating back to 1795. It is also the birthplace of several prominent individuals, such as the actor Ladislav Chudík, whose memory was honoured by the locals who have built a memorial at Hájný Grúň, which was his favourite place since childhood. Most visitors, however, are more interested in the present than in the history. And for those people, the offer is even richer.

Sometimes people ask why we are called the Country House. Well, we are not ashamed of the fact that we like country music, besides it somehow brings us closer to the country we live in, which we love. But during our cultural summer you can also listen to other music genres. We are looking forward to your visit.
