The resort is situated in the mountains in the picturesque village of Čierny Balog, at a distance of only 9 km from the town of Brezno. In summer, you may enjoy active hiking, as the nearby surroundings offer plenty of pleasant hikes or a number of hiking and cycling trails. You may also spice up your holiday by mushroom picking or visiting local attractions such as the Čiernohronská railway, the forestry museum, or the Dobroča old-growth forest (Dobročský prales).

The Čierny Balog Ski Resort features its own shepherd's hut, which offers pleasant seating amidst beautiful nature. You can look forward to authentic, Slovak, homemade cuisine from our grandmothers. Our staff will ensure that your meals are prepared with authentic ingredients from local suppliers. Whether you are looking for a venue for a family lunch, celebration, wedding, or a corporate event, shepherd's hut on Čierny Balog will be a great choice. The restaurant has two separate buildings (shepherd's hut and a small hut).
