Here, you will be greeted by the old familiar, and unfamiliar smell of honest, home-made food. You will taste Pohořeľská šmantľoška (traditional fermented cabbage soup), genuine Pohořeľské halušky (traditional soft dumplings), cheeses, oštiepok (traditional smoked sheep milk cheese) and parenica (semi-firm, non-ripening, semi-fat, steamed cheese) from the local alpine hut or traditional Pohořeľský rácoš (local pie). The ingredients are sourced from local producers and thanks to the traditional recipe of grannies from Pohorelá, every visit to this distinctive village will be particularly memorable.
