Mlyn s náhonom - Národná kultúrna pamiatka

Watermill with a millrun

National Cultural Monument

The mill in Predajná village is a simple purpose-built late Baroque structure with a 19th-century extension, which was part of a larger complex with a millrun, a miller's house and farm buildings. Its origins date back to the 18th century.

The watermill with a millrun is located in the village of Predajná on Bečov Street in house No. 110 and is owned by Ondrej Čipka. It constitutes a part of the historical buildings of the village, preserved in its structure, plan and layout with designs exhibiting a high degree of authenticity.

The exhibition is complemented by signs with the names of the machinery and QR codes. After scanning these, visitors will be able not only to read the textual description, but also to listen to an audio recording in Slovak, English or German language. This will introduce visitors to the difficult life of a miller and his family.

This project is intended to make the building itself more visible and accessible to the general public, via individual tours as well as organised guided tours.
