Exposition Nostalgia¿
The exposition is situated right in the centre of the city, on the Square of Gen. M. R. Štefánik in the premises of the gate No. 2, next to the Municipal Office. Its name is complemented by an apt slogan from the period of the former regime: 'Honour to work and peace to labour'. The building also provides an added value, namely a nostalgic look into the past with educational elements.
The exhibition space is divided into two floors - ground floor and first floor. The ground floor of the exhibition entitled 'This is also how Brezno used to be' brings an informative-educational form of experience, through various artefacts, paintings and panels, which will evoke a kind of memory of the socialist era.
The biggest attraction of Nostalgia¿ is the apartment on the first floor, furnished in 1970s/1980s contemporary style, complete with accessories that were characteristic of the period between the 1970s and the 1980s. Integral features include a kitchen with vintage appliances and everyday items, a corner sofa, a furniture set with porcelain and glassware, an upholstered sofa with seats and a coffee table, as well as a children's room with toys.
Interactive game
You can also make the tour of the individual exhibits more enjoyable thanks to the interactive game 'How people lived in times not so very long ago', which includes a game plan with tasks that take place in an apartment furnished in a 1970s/1980s style. Various clues will guide you through the apartment and help you solve the game, for which you will also receive a nostalgic reward.
