History
Our club was founded in 2014 - its founding members were K.Belicová, D.Mellová, L.Garajová, M.Leitner, M.Kristály, and J.Sedliak.
Why?
Our intent was to help organize sports racing and non-racing events in the Banská Bystrica district and to supplement the opportunity to obtain resources from the state administration and from regional partners from the Banská Bystrica district, which were strictly tied to the club's headquarters. We were already active in the Skialp4u club, and it was based in the Brezno district, which in the older system reduced our chances to successfully organize events.
Our purpose
With both clubs, during the period of 12 years, we have been dominating in the organization of national events with international participation in sports such as ski mountaineering, mountain running, and triathlon, as well as non-competitive events such as the Charity Run of St. Nicholas, sports conferences / Športujeme, lebo chceme (We do sports because we want to) and Ženy a šport (Women and sport) / or screenings of mountain films from the festivals Hory a mesto (Mountains and city) / Mýto pod Ďumbierom. These events were either one-time or were cup events such as the Central European Cup in ski mountaineering, the Cup of mountain duathlons Aminostar, 10 years of the Run for Urpin and 10 years of Run to the Castle Pustý hrad. The Banská Bystrica Vertical run from the Slovak National Uprising Square to the Pánsky diel was a challenge with its running and cycling variants. More than 50% of the events were part of the national cups. In recent years, our favourite event has been the Challenge Chopok which in its tougher and softer versions gives a chance to excel in versatility / ski mountaineering, mountain running and triathlon and complexity, while localizing the performances to the Low Tatras region on a year-round basis.
Today
Today the calendar of events is rich and the club brings together competitors as well as volunteers.
Thus, it provides its members with the opportunity to be part of the community, to receive benefits, and it brings ideas, ambitions, and ideals to the club life.
