From Horná Lehota to hradisko – Hrádok
A walk to “hradisko – Hrádok” (834 m above sea level) - the settlement of the Celts begins in front of the room "Celts in Horehronie" in the centre of Horná Lehota (532 m above sea level). You can have a look at the artefacts found during archaeological research.
The route is 3.4 km long and marked by blue tourist sign. The positioning on the hill of Hrádok was inhabited during the Iron Age. Archaeological research from 1999 to 2002 proved it. However, we do not know for sure whether it delimits it precisely, when exactly did the first settlers come here and when, and especially how, life ended here. In order to find out, we would need to continue our research. Nevertheless, it is certain that iron was processed on site here. The evidence was found in the form of crucibles, iron slag and magnifying glass (iron semi-finished product) ready for further processing.
