Conquer the majestic Kráľova hoľa

The majestic peak “Kráľova hoľa” is clearly the most popular mountain peak visited by tourist just next to villages Šumiac and Telgár with their distinctive atmosphere. Four rivers - Čierny Váh, Hron, Hnilec, Hornád - spring at its foot. It is at the same time the highest hill of the eastern part of the Low Tatras, at the altitude of 1,946 m above sea level.

Several routes which start in the villages Telgárt and Šumiac will lead you to the peak to conquer it.

The superelevation of all proposed hiking trails on the Kráľova hoľa mountain peak, surrounded by legends and celebrated by poets, exceed 1,000 m above sea level, which makes the hike slightly demanding. 

 

Telgárt – Kráľova skala - Kráľova hoľa:

Green trail signs - 3:50 hod, 6,2 km

 

Pusté pole - Martalúzka - Kráľova hoľa

Yellow trail signs - 3:58 hod, 8,9 km

 

Šumiac – Kráľova hoľa:

Blue trail signs - 3:30 hod., 5,6 km,

Educational trail Kráľova hoľa - 8 hod., 16 km

 

There is smaller mountain cabin “Horská chata pod Kráľovou hoľou” (1,451 m above sea level) in the saddle “Predné sedlo” below the Kráľová hoľa peak, halfway from Šumiac (village), if you climb following the blue trail signs, i.e., about 1 hour and 40 minutes from the village. You will surely recharge your energy and get enough strength to reach the summit.

The eBike rental in Kráľová hoľa offers its visitors the opportunity to rent electric bicycles / fat eBikes with studded tyres for winter rides, directly in the Šumiac village. You can experience a unique ascent and adrenaline descent on the highest accessible peak both in Slovakia and Central Europe. (13.6 km, elevation of 1,066 m).
